The Artist
Marisu Miranda is a 3rd generation award winning fashion designer from Spain with 35 years of experience in the fashion industry.New in Savannah 2024 from New York and the last year in Medellin Colombia where she worked creating textiles with the Wayuu indigenous tribe of Guajira and teaching in Fashion Colleges.
While in NY she worked with celebrity stylist Karla Welch and Mimi Cuttrell creating dresses and doing fitting for New York fashion week, red carpets appearances, tv shows for stars such as Gigi Haddi, Tom Hiddleston, Tina Fey, Sofia Vergara, Maude Apatow,Elle Macpherson.
Marisu has created dresses, restyled them and fit them for the Met Gala working for Prada, Givenchy, Marc Jacobs, and 5 years for Ralph Lauren preserving and fixing vintage dresses and working as an expert tailor. Worked for Desigual fitting the new runway collections and created new pieces for their line including and creating a kimono for Chaka Khan for the after party and created artful backdrops .
Prior to that Marisu owned Queens Fabric and her atelier for 15 years, creating her own textiles and making dresses that were worn in the Grammys, Emmys, Billboard Award, CMA while consulting new fashion startups companies and training fashion students. In Tampa she taught Fashion class for 8 years developing all the sketching courses and design specialty classes
She has presented her art in FDLA Art Basel in Miami, creating fashion illustrations for Antonio Banderas, exhibited in Galleries in Sarasota , Spain, Colombia where she also taught workshops and seminars.
Coming from a creative family Marisu brother and sister both draw and her dad was a painter and wood sculptures while her mom taught her to sew, Marisu now enjoys teaching others the skill of Fashion Illustration and how to design while she still designs custom made gowns.
